NiP beat coL 2

NiP have defeated compLexity 2-1 (16-11 on de_dust2_se, 13-16 de_nuke_se, 16-10 de_train_se) to win ESEA Invite Season 14 Global Finals and $20,000.

NiP once again opened up de_dust2_se with an A split that saw them easily take out coL players for a 3-0 lead. A mid-to-B split extended their lead to 5-0, but Braxton "swag" Pierce's four kill made it 1-5.

The Swedes won three more rounds uncontested, but Spencer "hiko" Martin's triple gave coL their second round. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund's flank made it 2-9, but then coL mounted a comeback.

The home team first won an A retake, and Kory "semphis" Friesen followed it up with a one-on-two clutch. Friesen and Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert combined for four to make it 5-9, but Adam "friberg" Friberg's triple gave NiP a 10-5 lead for half.

Friesen's four Glock entry kills won compLexity their terrorist pistol round, but Richard "Xizt" Landström's strong play scoring four kills in the next two rounds allowed them to go up 12-8.

A crowd gathered in Dallas to watch coL take on NiP

Alesund's early double and Friberg's late round triple in B made it 13-8, and after a coL save they were facing a 8-14 deficit. With their backs against the wall, coL mounted a small comeback.

Entries from Martin and Gilbert made it 9-14, and a quick B take saw Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson surrender the site, forcing NiP to save and giving coL their eleventh round.

Martin had a chance to clutch a one-on-two in the next round but was unable to win the round in B, and NiP were able to clinch the first map with a 16-11 score as coL got take out in middle.

Next up was de_nuke_se where compLexity was able to win the highly favored terrorist pistol round, only to be shut down by Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg's P250 at ramp on the following one.

Alesund scored three AK47 kills to make it 3-1, and NiP continued racking up rounds with their momentum, as Gilbert double team killed to make it 5-1 in NiP's favor in a flawless round.

n0thing had some big rounds in the grand final

Landström won a one-on-three to make it 7-1 as coL came close to winning a save round, but NiP kept their winning streak going until 10-1 despite Pierce's triple kill at 1-9.

Martin's triple cut the score to 2-10, and Gilbert's entry outside allowed coL to win the thirteenth round. Alesund's triple gave NiP back the momentum, and the Swedes stopped an upper rush to make it 12-3.

compLexity won the pistol as counter-terrorists as well, but NiP once again were able to win the second round, and stole all the momentum as they extended their lead to 13-4.

Against all odds, Gilbert scored two silenced USP kills at ramp and propelled his side to a save round win to keep the North Americans in the game, and start a massive comeback.

After a few close round wins Pierce scored four M4A1-S kills from catwalk to make it 8-13, and two rounds later him and Gilbert won an important two-on-four clutch on the lower site for 10-13.

semphis won his team two crucial pistol rounds

Sean "sgares" Gares scored four SCAR-20 kills, including a one-on-two, to make it 12-13, and a double from Pierce tied the game at thirteen. Gares then added two SCAR kills to give coL its first lead at 14-13.

compLexity completed the massive comeback winning twelve straight rounds as Gilbert scored two huge M4A1-S kills to make it 15-13, and Martin's triple secured coL the 16-13 map win versus NiP.

Friesen started de_train_se strong with three USP-S kills in the inner site, but NiP managed a bombplant on both of the first two rounds. Third round saw NiP attack outer, and Alesund's double gave the Swedes their first round of the third map.

Friberg's triple at alley tied the game at two, forcing coL to save. Gilbert and Gares combined for four to tie the game again, but Johansson's two health one-on-one win forced coL on another save round.

Down 3-5, the American side started a comeback once again, first stopping NiP's outer attack, followed by Gares and Martin splitting up the opposing team to tie the game once more.

GeT_RiGhT helped his team win yet another championship

compLexity would win three more straight rounds, including a two-on-three where Pierce scored three frags, and an outer rush stopped by Friesen and Martin getting two a piece.

Early picks allowed NiP to win their sixth round after, but Gares brought out his trusty SCAR-20 for two kills on the inner bombsite to clinch his side a 9-6 win as counter-terrorists.

The Swedes stopped coL's outer rush on the pistol round, and quickly tied the game at nine. Alesund won a one-on-one versus Friesen thanks to patient play, and then got two early kills to make it 11-9.

Next two rounds included a coL save and saw NiP extend its lead to 13-9 before Gilbert's three AK47 headshots gave his side its tenth round. Ultimately it wasn't enough, as Johansson clinched the series with a triple AWP kill at 16-10.
